Open Vision Space: the importance of gathering with understanding & kindness

A message on the importance of gathering in spaces with an open vision.

A message from Maryama

2025 feels like a pivotal year for transformation. Now, more than ever, we need spaces where vision expands into action—spaces I like to call Open Vision Spaces.

Yesterday, I hosted such an Open Vision Space at Leyduin Estate. Together with a group of remarkable impact makers, we gathered to connect, reflect, and explore what’s possible for a future that truly cares for people and planet.

A year ago, I launched the openvision.space podcast to create a platform for visionary thinkers to share bold ideas and meaningful insights. One concept close to my heart is Cathedral Thinking: contributing to something greater than ourselves, knowing we may never see its completion but trusting in its importance.

This quote, shared by one of the attendees, captures the essence of yesterday’s gathering:

“It is possible that the next Buddha, Maitreya, will not take on any individual form. Maybe he will take the form of a Sangha, a community practicing understanding and loving kindness, a Sangha which practices the art of mindful living.”

— Thich Nhat Hanh

To everyone who joined: thank you for embodying the spirit of mindful community and collective vision. Let’s continue to create, collaborate, and act on the possibilities that matter most for future generations.
